"Happy he who can remain rooted in the soil of his homeland" once wrote the German writer Carl Zuckmayer. He lived in Saas-Fee for over two decades. As a third-generation family business, we are committed to tradition.

In 2019 we completely rebuilt our restaurant. We created space for the foundation walls of the building built in 1923, while creating space for light with bright architecture and loving details in the furnishings.

We love using handpicked regional ingredients in our kitchen, portrayed in our menu of many seasonal creations and a few surprises.

Saas-Fee

Nestled between 18 four-thousand-meter peaks, Saas-Fee is worth a visit at any time of year. With its 150 kilometers of slopes, the ski area has one of the best snow guarantees in the Alps.

Pizza

As a pizzeria, our main focus is on Italian dishes, but we also focus on varied and seasonal cuisine. Whenever possible we will use selected ingredients.

The Host

Host Rasso Bumann has been running the family business for 30 years. The passionate cook and mountain walker was also inspired by his Himalayan expedition when remodelling the restaurant. In 2002, Rasso reached the summit of Mount Everest.

Our Menu

Our History

During the almost 100-year history of our family business, many things have changed. There was no paved road or electricity in the early days of our restaurant. Mules brought guests and luggage to us in Saas-Fee and in the kitchen, ice from the glacier helped to preserve the supplies. Today the bus runs every half hour to our village and we accept reservations via our website.

2019

The Britannia house was demolished to its foundation walls in April 2019; the complete reconstruction took a whole year. The restaurant was able to reopen its doors in December 2019.

The restaurant was taken over by Karin & Rasso Bumann.
